Air scrubber FAQs
Yes. Air scrubber and air filtration device (AFD) are two names for the same machine. It draws air through a G4 pre-filter and an H13 HEPA filter to capture mould spores, fine dust and other airborne particles.
Mould remediation and mould removal, where they capture airborne spores; dust control during demolition and strip-outs; odour removal after fire, smoke and mould damage; and water damage and flood recovery, where they help keep air quality under control while the building dries out.
Yes. All three models run in negative, neutral or positive pressure mode. Negative air keeps contaminated air inside a containment zone, which is a common setup on mould remediation jobs.
Go by the size of the area. The TS AFD 800 covers up to 200 m³, the TS AFD 1200 covers 200 to 370 m³ and the TS AFD 2000 covers 340 to 570 m³. For larger or heavily contaminated areas, step up a size or run more than one unit. Not sure? Contact us and we’ll help you choose.
Yes, with a carbon filter fitted. Carbon filters remove odours, gases and volatile compounds on fire and smoke restoration, mould and chemical jobs. They’re available for the TS AFD 800 and TS AFD 1200.
The TS AFD 1200 and TS AFD 2000 have a built-in pressure gauge that shows when filters are loading up. Changing the G4 pre-filter regularly protects the HEPA filter and extends its life. Replacement filters are in our consumables range.
Not always, but they’re often used when there’s a risk of mould, when water damage turns into a strip-out, or when the building is occupied. Pair them with LGR dehumidifiers and air movers for the drying itself.
